Prithviraj R. Chavan, M.D.

Founder & CEO of Dunamis Medical

Dr. Chavan was born and raised in Mumbai, India where he completed his medical education and residency. With a strong interest to specialize in sports medicine and joint replacement, Dr. Chavan traveled to the U.S. to advance his education by training at the best medical centers in the world. He completed fellowships at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, Sports Orthopedics and Spine, PC in Jackson TN and the University of Buffalo, New York. Inspired by the existing technological challenges surgeons and healthcare providers face in the healthcare industry, Dr. Chavan began collaborating with product developers and scientific advisors. With the intent to create meaningful technology which can improve patient outcomes, he founded Dunamis Medical. He hopes to provide a platform to surgeons and healthcare providers by designing systems which provide improved healing and patient safety while reducing surgical complications. Dunamis Medical delivers products with superior quality and performance while still making healthcare affordable.

Keith Nord, M.D.

Dr. Nord is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and he holds a Subspecialty Certification in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. Dr. Nord specializes in arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgery and he has invented numerous surgical instruments for arthroscopic repairs. Dr. Nord is a member of several organizations including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. He has served on the Education, Learning Center, Technology and Membership committees. He also serves as a master instructor for Advanced Shoulder Arthroscopy courses held in Chicago at the Learning Center, where he teaches residents, fellows and other orthopaedic surgeons advanced techniques in shoulder surgery. Dr. Nord also served as the Fellowship Director of the Sports, Orthopedics & Spine Shoulder Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine Fellowship in Jackson, Tennessee.

Dr. Mark Mighell

Dr. Mighell is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and he serves his profession as a national board examiner. He specializes in the treatment of injuries and disorders of the shoulder and elbow, and, having been trained in an American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons fellowship, he now trains three fellows each year. Additionally, Dr. Mighell treats patients using advanced surgical techniques including elbow arthroscopy, reverse total shoulder replacement, SWAT technique for shoulder arthroplasty, and shoulder reconstruction as well as robotically assisted arthroplasty.

Prior to joining Florida Orthopaedic Institute in 2001, Dr. Mighell served on active duty in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center for seven years, and as Medical Director for the United States Navy during the previous four years receiving a Navy Commendation for duties performed. He is an active member of the American Orthopaedic Association, American Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons.

Multilingual in English, Spanish, French, Russian, and German. Dr. Mighell has authored dozens of publications and has delivered numerous poster and oral presentations relating to his medical expertise.

Peter Kurzweil, M.D.

Dr. Kurzweil was born and raised in New York, where he completed his orthopedic residency at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center. Being an active individual himself, Dr. Kurzweil wanted to help other active individuals restore their lives after injuries. He completed a sports medicine fellowship at the Southern California Center for Sports Medicine in Long Beach. He chose orthopedic surgery to become a specialist in knee and shoulder injuries. Dr. Kurzweil has served as the Director of the Memorial Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship under the Department of Orthopaedics at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. He has also served as a team physician for Long Beach State University, the Long Beach StingRays and the Long Beach Ice Dogs. He is a member of the editorial board for the Journal of Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy Review. He is also affiliated with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Arthroscopy Association of North America, California Orthopaedic Association and the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. With vast experience in the field of sports medicine and his passion for changing lives for the better, Dr. Kurzweil chose to join the Dunamis Medical Scientific Advisory Team.

Anish G. R. Potty

Born and raised in Pandalam, India, Dr. Potty is an Orthopaedic Surgeon who has completed multiple fellowships under the guidance of world experts in pioneer orthopedic institutes. He has developed expertise in arthroscopic surgeries of the hip, shoulder and knee in adults and children. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Arthroscopy Association of North America, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America. He has published numerous book chapters and articles in peer reviewed journals and also serves as a journal reviewer for Arthroscopy: The Journal of Arthroscopic and Related suergeries, Hospital for Special Surgery Journal and Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics. Dr. Potty is in pursuit of transforming clinical orthopaedic care by integrating technology and providing high quality – low cost care. He has been involved with research, designing and development of cutting-edge technology to help improve patient care and outcomes. It is because of his passion to transform patient care through cutting-edge technology that he chose to become a part of the Dunamis Medical Scientific Advisory Team.

Daniel Avery, M.D.

Dr. Avery was born and raised in Alabama where he obtained his medical education. He completed his residency at St. Luke’s University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania where he also served as Chief Resident. He is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in elbow, wrist and hand surgery. He is fellowship trained in both Orthopaedic Sports Medicine and Hand and Upper Extremity. He also completed a Hand and Microvascular fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. Dr. Avery has authored scientific articles, review articles and book chapters related to sports medicine, hand surgery and orthopedic surgery. Dr. Avery joined the Dunamis Medical Scientific Advisory Team because he is passionate and committed to providing patients with the highest quality of care.

Tyler J. Marshall, M.D.

Dr. Marshall is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in orthopedic sports medicine and the use of minimally invasive techniques to treat knee, shoulder, hip and elbow injuries. Dr. Marshall is an expert shoulder and knee surgeon with specialty training in rotator cuff, labrum, ACL, meniscus and cartilage injuries. He is a Birmingham native and University of Alabama graduate. He completed his medical education and orthopedic residency training at the University of Alabama-Birmingham. Following his residency training he went on to complete his fellowship training in Sports Medicine at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. During his fellowship he was a team physician for local high schools, John Carrol University, the Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Dr. Marshall has published peer reviewed journal articles on a wide spectrum of orthopedic topics. He has lectured both locally and at national sports medicine conferences. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine and his current research interests include shoulder instability, rotator cuff, improving ACL outcomes and the thrower’s elbow. Dr. Marshall believes the best patient care requires a joint effort from a strong team of healthcare providers and is why he joined the Dunamis Medical Scientific Advisory Team.
